MCR PROPERTY GROUP CONTINUES ITS SOUTHERN EXPANSION WITH THE ACQUISITION OF BLACKWORTH INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

The industrial estate in Swindon has been acquired by MCR Property Group in their third southern industrial acquisition of the year.

The final acquisition price is undisclosed for the 4 plot transaction, which benefits from 176,605 sq. ft of existing accommodation.

Sam Henderson, Head of Acquisitions (South) at MCR Property Group, said: “We are delighted to have been able to secure this significant industrial park, fending off tough competition.”

“Swindon has a vibrant industrial base which is driving demand for space along the M4 corridor from the South West to London. We particularly liked the Blackworth Industrial Estate because of its excellent layout and the opportunities to add value.”

He added: “This deal demonstrates how MCR plans on increasingly looking to the South West and the surrounding catchment area, making significant investments in industrial areas like Swindon. As such, it represents a significant vote of confidence in the South West economy.”

Blackworth Industrial Estate is the latest addition to its portfolio which also includes in the South West: Avonmouth Industrial Estate, Bristol and Rockbeare Quarry, Exeter with several further southwest acquisitions in the pipeline, nearing completion.
